WELCOME TO HOME PRODUCTION TEST DOCUMENTATION LINKS 9 - ADMIN FORMS AVAILABLE ON INSIDETRACK.YU.EDU (PROD) PORTALTEST.YU.EDU (TEST) WELCOME TO THE NEW ENVIRONMENT The database and supporting servers have all been upgraded and moved to the VanEtten Building on the Resnick campus. Here is some important information about this new environment: New Home page The home page banner.yu.edu consolidates links to the the production and test environments onto one web page. This should be your starting page for all things ! Running without Terminal Services If you do not need to run MS ACCESS reports through , you do not need tsweb.yu.edu to run . As long as you are on the YU network, you can run from the PRODUCTION tab on banner.yu.edu. Running via TSWEB You can still run via tsweb.yu.edu as you always have. We recommend that you only use tsweb.yu.edu if you need to run MS ACCESS reports, or you need to run from outside the YU network and have no other off campus connection. POPUP MESSAGES As in past server upgrades, when you first log in to , you may be presented with some pop up messages asking if you want to run an application or if you trust the publisher of the application. As in the past, you should click the "RUN" Button. If the pop up message asks if you trust the publisher, you should click on the "always trust" box. Reminder: If you are on tsweb.yu.edu and you can’t type in the login box, a popup may be waiting for your response. Hold down the ALT key, and press the INSERT key, and a waiting popup should move to the front of the screen. EXAMPLE #1 (this should only appear if you run via tsweb.yu.edu): EXAMPLE #2: POPUPS and MS ACCESS via TSWEB.YU.EDU When running MS ACCESS via tsweb.yu.edu you may receive a message you are blocking popups from the new server formsprod.yu.edu. As in past server upgrades, you will need to tell TSWEB that will always allow popups from formsprod.yu.edu. Just follow the instructions that appear on the screen, and choose "always allow popups". You wll then be prompted to log back into . EXAMPLE: GETTING HELP As always, please contact the help desk: http://www.yu.edu/its/Helpdesk/ POINTING TO THE NEW DATABASE WITH LOCAL TOOLS If you use desktop tools such as locally developed reporting databases, SQL Developer, TOAD, etc, you will need to change your entry in your TNSNAMES.ora file. The TNSNAMES.ora for your production entry in the file should be as below.
